Summer temperatures, Mediterranean flair and dream beaches on the Dalmatian coast: Split in Croatia provided the ideal location for a European spin-off of the Ultra Music Festival. Artists such as Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Carl Cox, The Chainsmokers and David Guetta drew 150,000 spectators to the seaport. The stage for Ultra Europe was provided by Stageco Deutschland. Whereas 2018 has seen the Ultra Music Festival, now the cult event of the EDM community, celebrate its 20th anniversary in Miami, USA, the sixth edition of Ultra Europe took place for from 6 to 8 June 2018. For the first time, Stageco Deutschland was commissioned to provide the stage for the event at the Poljud Stadium in Split. This was also Stageco’s first time of operating in Croatia. An extra-high 4-tower stage was erected as a support structure for the set planned by the client, Promologistica d.o.o., featuring LED walls. The Stageco Deutschland stage provided a performance area of 26 metres and a clearance height of approx. 17 metres. In addition, the clients themselves erected scaffolding walls to the left and right of the stage to extend the set. This resulted in a construction with an overall width of approx. 52 metres, covered from floor to roof with LED screens. When planning the work, it was necessary to factor in the highest conceivable wind loads due to the strong winds commonly found in the region around Split. pics © Promologistika
